We developed the art and direction of the animations that make up the scenography of Gilberto Gil’s latest tour, “Tempo Rei”, which over the course of a year traveled across Brazil and several South American countries, spanning more than 30 shows.

Gilberto Gil is one of the greatest living Brazilian artists and a defining figure in the country’s culture. Over more than six decades of career, he helped revolutionize Brazilian music as one of the creators of Tropicália, crossing genres, behaviors and languages with an authorial, restless and deeply influential body of work.

The project consists of a continuous audiovisual work of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, made up of 32 animations — one for each song in the show. Conceived as short films, these pieces operate in real time within the scenic space, integrated with the set design and the music, creating a visual narrative that accompanies and expands the experience of the performance.
