We developed the visual identity and graphic system for the exhibitions “Uma Coleção Sensorial” (A Sensory Collection) and “100 anos de arte: Gilberto Chateaubriand” (100 Years of Art: Gilberto Chateaubriand), presented at the Museum of Modern Art of Rio de Janeiro (MAM Rio), conceived as chapters of a single project.

The exhibitions draw from the collection of Gilberto Chateaubriand, one of Brazil’s most important art collectors. Started in the 1950s, his collection brings together thousands of works and offers a comprehensive overview of modern and contemporary Brazilian artistic production, becoming a key reference for the understanding of art in the country.

We departed from the idea of a collection as a system: a structure capable of bringing together works from different periods, languages and contexts without imposing a hierarchy among them. The identity unfolds across multiple formats — communication, editorial materials and exhibition space — organizing the public’s experience in a clear, contemporary and integrated way.

More than merely identifying, the graphic project functions as a reading layer for the exhibition, guiding the visitor and creating unity within the diversity of the collection.
